My Weekend By The Numbers
The boys and I packed up the car, left the wives and headed out for (man|gay|golf|bro)cation this weekend. Here’s how it went…by the numbers:
- 54 - Golf holes played in 2 days
- 2 - Birdies scored
- 2 - Houses hit with golf balls
- 0 - People who caught us in the act of hitting golf balls at their houses
- 116 - Highest golf score recorded (*cough* T-Daddy *cough*)
- 166 - Times the phrase “It’s too late to ‘pologize” was sung
- 1 (out of 5) - Rating I gave Eagle Eye after watching it this weekend
- 1 - Surly waitresses encountered
- 11 - Strokes to finish hole 17 at Sand Hollow
- 8 - Score recorded on 17th hole at Sand Hollow
- 154 - Yards I can hit out of a fairway bunker with an 8 iron
- 1 - Bunnies photographed
- 88 - Bunnies shot (inside joke)
I declare the golfcation a smashing success.

The fact checkers have been at work and determined that there are a few key numbers missing or errantly reported here. The corrections to the report are as follows:
345 - The actual number of times the phrase, “Too late to ‘pologize” was sung or spoken.
17 - The number of strokes Donjuanica cheated by to get his cumulative score across the 54 holes.
216 - The number of swings of a golf club required to cause severe underarm chaffing.
98 - The number of times Donjuanica sang the words, “Ruby, ruby, ruby, ruby,” AFTER the point at which that had become annoying.
59 - The number of golf balls lost by our group.
But yes, the trip was a roaring success. I hear Scotland was proposed for next year. I’m in.
