IOTD: The Swiss Army Penchuku Sabre, the Unauthorized Sequel
It wasn’t my post to update, but since Gee-Rant and Atticusser were both so vehement in their comments about the Invention of the Day requiring a sketch or schematic, I felt that MrHattyHat’s ingenious invention wasn’t getting a fair shake, so I took it upon myself to lend a hand. I hope that my interpretation is true to MHH’s original vision for the device.

Dang, and my birthday just passed! I want to get me one of those. (are either of the pens “Astronaut Pens” that write upside down? Cuz that’s sort of the clencher.)

Isn’t the term actually “the clincher?” The clencher sounds like the move you make when you’re trying to get to the bathroom about 30 minutes after eating at the New Chinese* Gourmet Buffet.

See, this is exactly why schematics are needed for the IOTD posts. Otherwise, how would we be able to identify the obvious design flaw of having the pens tethered at the ball point? How are you supposed to write with it? I’m just glad we caught this before we went into to full production.
Also, I hope that the outside pen is significantly weighted enough to balance out the entire knife housing and all the other tools attached to the primary pen.

In my own defense, I’m in R & D, which mostly means conceptualizing. Schematics are for those in Graphics to prepare.
I’m a firm believer in the Stay In Your Lane philosophy of work flow. I do what I do, everyone else does what they do.
So thanks to MtyThor for the rendering. I’m off to come up with more ideas that someone else can draw.
